Molly Ann

When I told Molly I couldn't turn around in the car to look at her b/c I was driving she says: "I wish we were a family of owls so you could turn your head all the way around quick and see me."

Then she said she wanted to visit her cousin Logan and that she missed California.  Under her breath, "I wish I had a fly boat, then I could just get there myself."  I asked about a flyboat and she proceeded to tell me that it was from wonderpets.  Ah ha.

Last night after a nightmare woke her up and she was scared in her room, I told her that the Holy Ghost can comfort her. She then replied with, "yea, and the Holy Ghost warns you if there is something scary too."

Me: "Um...Yes...Um..."  This conversation got a little longer than anticipated at 11:30 pm.

She is just getting too smart for me.  This is not a good sign, she is only 5, and I am not getting any smarter.

When I grow up...

Lately, Garrett keeps starting sentences with "When I grow up..." Here are three of the latest:

-When I gwow up Mom, I'm gonna be Batman Gawwett

-When I gwow up Mom, I'm not gonna have one of dose diwty fings(referring to Hansen's umbilical cord stump)

And finally, one of my favorites:

-When I gwow up Mom, I am gonna be a bug

Hansen Sam Baxter

Molly upon seeing Hansen in his diaper at the hospital: "Did he come out with a diaper already on?"  When told that he had to get his "blood taken"(to check for jaundice).  She asked very concerned, "Do they give his blood back to him?"

Garrett upon seeing his umbilical cord stump:  "Mom, get that fing off of Baby Handsome.  He doesn't wike dat diwty diwty fing on him.  Get it off now Mom!"  (We had to get him dressed right away so Garrett would stop worrying about it)

I shouldn't be getting this way yet...

Any great ideas of how to go into labor?  None of the "I heard this works..."  It has to be firsthand knowledge.  Meaning...you tried it...and it worked.  If I was overdue than people would probably understand more where I am coming from.  But I slept 3 hours last night...and if my sleep is going to be that bad, I might as well have a cute little baby to hold.  Not that watching my cute husband sleep isn't fun...he really is cute when he sleeps. He cuddles in like a little koala bear(pulling the covers all the way up to his neck) and just looks so cozy...and comfortable...and not fat...with no heartburn...just so cute and cuddly.  Anyway, that was a bit of a tangent.  But hey, I had a LOT of time on my hands.  Anybody...anything?

Still adjusting...

Garrett and Molly are still adjusting to the move.  But I have enjoyed some of their latest "quotes."

Molly: "Why can't all the states have snow mom?"(my explanation of weather and climate was fantastic after this)

Garrett: "My undaweaw is so bo-ing, I am so bowed of my undaweaw."(he hates getting his underwear on after he goes potty...just too much work, he'd rather skip right to the pants)

Molly:  "Is that our church?! We have a LOT of churches here Mom."(on our way to church in Encinitas, we passed a lot of churches, catholic, methodist etc...this has been quite interesting to her)

That last quote happened this morning.  I finally got Garrett's Batman pj's off him last night so I could wash them.  It has been a long time.  He wears them every day, all day.  He won't wear anything else.  After church on Sunday, he walked straight to his room and about ripped the buttons off of his shirt trying to get undressed so he could get his pj's on.  Well, when he woke up, he peeked his head out of his room and ran back in.  Sam found him buck naked, and the first words out of his mouth at 6:30 AM were, "Let's go to the waundwy dad, i fink my batman pajamas awe weady." He got them out of the dryer and he proceeded to smell them, quite deeply, and said, "Dey smell wovewy(lovely) dad."  When I came up, I commented on his pj's and he said, "dey awe beautiful mom!"  I don't know when, or if, he will ever stop wearing them, I just know I need to get a back up pair. :-)

Good ol' Utah

So here we are.  And it is plenty cold.  Granted I am a baby when it comes to the cold.  But it feels cold to me.  The highlight of the move has been a Grandma and a Grandpa nearby.  The lowlight has been the fact that the kids have been sick since the middle of December.   I think we have picked up our third bug, so we haven't been able to visit any cousins.  Bummer. Welcome to Utah I guess.

On our list of things to do was buy a car and a house.  One down, one to go.  The new car takes a little stress off, knowing that we can fit our family into the car when the new baby comes.  The new baby may be trying to come a bit early, so we are taking it as easy as possible.  As much as I don't like being pregnant, 31 weeks is not enough time in the oven for this little guy.  We are adjusting to Utah the best we can.  Garrett has broken my heart a couple of times.  He couldn't find me, so he went into his room and cried.  When I found him in there he said, "Dis make me so sad mom, I so sad." The lip quivers and it just breaks your heart.  So he and Molly are adjusting the best they can.  We are headed to the BYU game today...if all else fails, watch a little basketball!  Maybe Cosmo will cheer the kiddos up a bit.

I loved it when he got buried, because he would just sit there...it made the beach much more relaxing. :-)
