Thank you JetBlue... Thank you March Madness!

I would just like to thank JetBlue for having TV's on the airplane.  I would also like to thank the video iPod for existing.  It made our trip on the plane almost enjoyable.  They even got to visit the cockpit.  When Garrett kept pushing the buttons though, I knew I didn't want to be responsible for any damage...so we left.  

We had a wonderful time in Utah seeing A LOT of family and a few friends.  The kids were in heaven with all the Grandparents and I was in heaven with all of the basketball I could watch on my parent's TV.  I have missed ESPN, and I am sure they have missed me.  So after a carved out snowman, catching snow on our tongues, a lot of strawberries, the tramp, a climbing heaven(Boondocks), a Princess party, and Princesses on Ice, and some BYU gear(Go COUGS! Beat A&M!)...I just wanted to wish you all a Happy March Madness.  The best time of the year!

I am a really good mom...

So within a four day period our Garrett looks like he was in a car accident.  With remnants of his face issues lingering behind.  He slammed his thumb in the car door cause he wanted to do it "his seffff"  He then reached up and touched the stove after I warned him repeatedly(b/c this kid just HAS to try it for himself)  and he burned his pointer and middle finger(which proceeded to blister and is a bloody mess still).  

Then Sam came home after he went surfing this morning and said that his board whacked him in the face, cutting his lip, and the little thing on the upper lip connected to his gums.  He said the ironic thing is that is was one of his best days surfing. He is getting so good at surfing, his surfboard decided he wanted to be in charge again I guess.  So after all of that explanation.  LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON...see, I AM a good mom.  :-)  Trust me, you would need convincing too, if your son looked like mine.

Garrett and his Head...

Our Garrett seems to get hurt a lot.  But this head bonk on a corner wall was particularly gross.  Twenty minutes before THIS head injury, he got hit on the head by an airball from some guy at church basketball.  C'mon dude, if you're gonna shoot airballs watch out for little dudes walking under the basket!  Garrett hits his head enough on his own!  The fresh wound on his chin is from yesterday. The last pic is of the mark left by Molly when she accidently whipped him on his outstretched arm with her pearl necklace two days ago...but he's a fighter, he will tough it out to wear pearls.  If he wants 'em, he will sacrifice anything to get 'em.

Our weekend on the water...

We had a great time fishing and whale watching this weekend.  Here are a few pics.  One is of Sam and his sculpin, that we are having for dinner tonight(they are also venomous if you get stung) and me with a mackerel, but the guy next to me caught a octopus, and I thought that was cooler.  :-)  There were some sharks caught and a crab.  It was a great time!  Special thanks to Emily and Tom who had the kids!

Sea World

Garrett picked up a starfish today and Sea World.  I told him to look at me so we could "take a picture with the starfish."  He proceeded to put the starfish up to his eye (pretending it was a camera) and was "taking a picture with the starfish" over and over again.  It taught me another valuable lesson in communication.  My kids have no idea what I am saying.  

Molly and the Sea Lion Jake

Molly had the opportunity to be the volunteer at the sea lion show at the San Diego Zoo last week.  She got to hug, feed and do a trick with him, and got a big wet kiss on the cheek, which she thought was "gross."  It was a little gross, she smelled like fish all day.  The highlights were when she was told to bow(and then did so with quite a bit of personality, b/c she practices her bows after she dances around the house), and when she was told to just wipe her hands off on her clothes(she looked at the lady and with a totally innocent voice, says, "oh no, this is my Sunday dress." (I have seen this show a dozen times, and every kid always just wipes their hands on their pants.) Both moments got big laughs from the audience.
